Edit Patient/Study/Series InformationΒΆ
VisioVIEW offers the ability to edit the main DICOM tags of the selected patient, study, or series.
When choosing a patient, the available DICOM tags are Patient Birth Date, Patient Name, Patient Sex, Responsible Person (Owner), and Patient ID.
When choosing a study, the available DICOM tags are Accession Number, Referring Physicist, Study Date, Study Time, and Study ID.
When choosing a series, the available DICOM tags are Body Part Examined, Contrast Bolus Agent, Manufacturer, Modality, and Series Number.

To edit the main DICOM tag information, select the patient, study, or series from the Study List and press the Edit
icon in the Study Browser toolbar or use the Edit main tags...
option from the context menu.
Caution
Editing patient/study/series information can lead to unexpected consequences. This feature is for advanced users only. DICOM files will be modified during editing.
To prevent unauthorized access to this feature, the DICOM Edit
dialog is password protected, similar to the advanced settings.
After the user is authorized, to continue editing the main DICOM tags, users must choose the I understand the risk, unlock editing
option.
If unsure of the risks and consequences of editing DICOM tags, it is highly recommended to choose the Exit editing
option and close the dialog.

The DICOM Edit
dialog can be opened for multiple patients/studies/series simultaneously. Every unique selected item is represented by a different tab in the dialog. To close a tab, press the x
button next to it.
Additionally, users have the ability to delete the patient/study/series in the active tab by pressing the Delete patient/study/series
button in the bottom left corner of the dialog. To close the dialog, simply press Close
.

After making the necessary modifications, press the Modify instance(s)
button. The user will be prompted to confirm the modification, warning them about the number of instances being modified. Press Yes
to proceed with the modification,
or press No
to abort the editing process.
